Add Images That Tell Your Story
Code: NP-BLO-00005-1
Good images help visitors understand your website before they read every word. Choose pictures that show your work, explain your offer, or create the right setting for your message.
1. Give each image a purpose
A banner introduces the page. A gallery shows a collection. A product photo explains an item. Start with the job the image needs to do, then choose a subject and composition that suit it.
2. Prepare a consistent set
Use similar lighting, colours, and proportions for images that appear together. Landscape images often suit banners and article covers. Product cards look more orderly when their images share one aspect ratio. Keep the main subject away from the edges so it survives a tighter crop.
Export photographs as JPEG or WebP at a size suitable for their display area. Keep a full-quality original separately. Use descriptive filenames, and only upload images you have permission to use.
3. Add images in the right place
For a page section, open Admin > Section Builder, choose the page, and open the section’s Content editor. Its image controls belong to that section or column.
For an article, open Dynamic Content > Blog > Items, edit the post, and use Featured Image. For a product, open Shop, choose the product type, open v6 Products, and upload images to the gallery.
4. Check the result
Save, then view the public page. Check both the card and the detail page: they may crop or select images differently. In a product gallery, review the image order as well as the featured-image selection. Check that any text over a banner remains readable.
Try it yourself
Replace one demo image with a picture of your own work. View it on a phone and a wider screen, and adjust the crop or choose another image if the subject is cut off.
